The company run by its second generation combines traditional electroplating with state-of-the-art technology and plant engineering.

Versatile production facilities for every challenge

We rely on a combination of traditional workmanship and highly innovative fully automated systems in provide a comprehensive range of services. Work is carried out by hand in the manual group, in the hard chrome system and in the polishing workshop. The advantage of these systems is the flexibility and the possibility to intervene in the process and therefore change parameters at any stage. Machines 1 and 2 are state-of-the-art, fully automated anodising systems and are linked to a fully automated test and packaging system in the area of machine 2. This is the first of its kind in the world and a technical innovation from Rieger.

Machine 3 is a barrel system used for bulk material and the effective, state-of-the-art machine 4 is an “all-rounder” that covers the entire range of the portfolio available at Rieger. These systems are supplemented by upstream or downstream work stages so that you get everything from a single source at Rieger. We guarantee you high-gloss results with this technology.

Surface coating specialists use different processes and techniques to apply metallic coatings to metals or plastics. Surface coating specialists mainly work in industrial and artisanal businessesbusinesses that apply metallic coatings to workpiece surfaces. For example, these may be electroplating workshops or hot-dip galvanising workshops. They may also work in electroplating departments in the automotive supplier industry or in aerospace, PCB production and screw and tool production companies and suppliers.

A surface coating specialist is a recognised training profession in accordance with the Vocational Training Act (BbiG) and the Trade and Crafts Code (HwO). This nationally regulated 3-year training is offered in industry and in the craft sector.

Industrial business management assistants work in companies in almost all areas of business, such as the electrical, automotive and textile industries.

An industrial business management assistant. An industrial business management assistant in accordance with the Vocational Training Act (BbiG). This nationally regulated 3-year training is offered in industry and in the craft sector. A school-based training is also possible.

The company history

of Rieger Metallveredlung GmbH & Co. KG

2015

Change of the company name from “Franz Rieger Metallveredlung e. K.” to “Rieger Metallveredlung GmbH & Co. KG”.

2013

The test and packaging system for steering gear housings is installed. This marks another milestone as the test technology with lasers and cameras that is used there is unique in this area.

2008

The environmental management system is certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14001.

2003

The 50th anniversary celebrations took place

1997

A generational change takes place. Franz X. Rieger hands over the management of the company to his son A. Franz Rieger. In the same year, the quality management system is introduced and certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001.

1990

The ozone waste water treatment plant is put into operation. This plant is a European pilot project.

1988

Franz X. Rieger receives the “Dr. Rudolf-Ebert Prize” for innovative research in the area of electroplating.

1978

The 25th anniversary celebrations took place.

1953

Franz X. Rieger founded the “Galvanische Anstalt” (Electroplating Institution) in a converted chicken coop in Heidenheim an der Brenz. Seven years later, the company moved into the new building in the neighbouring town of Steinheim. Rieger Metallveredlung grew from an artisanal business into an industrial company at the end of the 1970s.
