RICAL

RICAL is a specially developed process for the direct nickel plating of aluminum. While NICAL® primarily serves as a base for other coating systems, RICAL focuses on the nickel layer itself. It forms a functional final surface and imparts additional technical properties to aluminum components. RICAL is particularly well-suited for applications where aluminum is to be retained as a lightweight material, but the surface must perform better—for example, in terms of corrosion protection, wear protection, or functional surface requirements.

Procedure at a glance

RICAL

RICAL is a process for the direct nickel plating of aluminum to form a standalone functional layer. The nickel layer is deposited directly onto the aluminum component and serves as the final technical surface. It can make the surface more durable and provide additional functional properties. This makes RICAL particularly suitable for aluminum components that are subjected to mechanical or corrosive stress during use and require a robust metallic surface.
