Tuning for the metal surface structure

Sandblasting process

The sandblasting process is not only suitable for removing dirt, but also for preparing the surfaces for further processing - it is a kind of tuning for the metal surface structure.

Sandblasting

With our in-house sandblasting cabin, we are also able to offer various blasting services - these include glass bead blasting and corundum blasting. Corundum is a sharp-edged, ferrite-free abrasive for metal surfaces to remove paint or coatings and for surface preparation. A very rough surface can be achieved with the appropriate grain size. When blasting with ferrite-free glass beads, a certain plastic deformation is achieved, which creates a residual stress in the workpiece (work hardening) and thus increases the surface hardness and fatigue strength. The surface is less roughened than when blasting with corundum, but rather matt.
